Thermopylae Gate 1950s
Sophie and Mort Roberts enjoying a cup of tea in the garden of their home at No.6 Thermopylae Gate in the early 1950s. Mr and Mrs Roberts had lived at No.38 Newcastle Street until they were bombed out in 1940 during the Second World War, when they were re-housed here. Carnations and stocks in the foreground!
