On the right: June Lenham, pictured during the Second World War serving as a nurse with the Queen Alexandra Imperial Nursing Service. June lived in Harbinger Road from the early 1960s until she died in 1983. She was active in local politics, a member of the Millwall Labour Party, the Mudchute Association and the Association of Island Communities. She was a keen gardener and cat lover - known in her street as ‘the cat lady’. She was also an active member of the East London History Society. Photographed here with her sister. From Miss Lenham
