How do I obtain a copy of an image?

Photographic copies can be obtained from Tower Hamlets Local Studies and Archives (there is a charge for this service) or a maximum of 5 digital copies can be emailed to you. If you would like to use the images for publication or display please contact us at localhistory@towerhamlets.gov.uk

Description:

Lock Lancasters, Millwall Lead Works (or Associated Lead), had several factories including the one in Westferry Road. This is a photograph of an outing from the Burdett Road Works. Included in the picture are: George White, Tom Humphries, Jack Armstrong, Harry Wingfield, Joe Pearson, George Smith, Vic Hall, John Tate, Arthur Uren, George Woodaouse, Charlie Bell, Charlie Stanard and Jack Cole. Jack who used to referee the annual match on Locke's Sports Ground, between Tower Hamlets boys and the Boy's Home at Shenfield, was drowned in the 1953 floods at Canvey Island.
