Catherine Cane, born 1872 in Ireland, died 1951, and her husband, Alfred Charles Cane. Both lived in Manilla Street, E14. Catherine, when young, used to sell fresh fish from a barrel at the dock gates. Alfred worked at Bullivants. They had about 14 children, of whom eight worked at Bullivants: Dave, Kate, Alf, George, Charlie, Nora, Mary, and Harry. From K. Beasley
