How do I obtain a copy of an image?
Photographic copies can be obtained from Tower Hamlets Local Studies and Archives (there is a charge for this service) or a maximum of 5 digital copies can be emailed to you. If you would like to use the images for publication or display please contact us at email@example.com
Smith Family 1890s
Smith Family, 1898. Mother: Alice Smith nee Thompson, (1868-1966). Father: George Besant Smith (1873-1946), a steel erector at Westwoods, his hobbies included photography, developing and printing. Baby: George William Smith, aged 6 months, (3 December 1897-1940), also a steel erector at Westwoods and later publican of the Newcastle Arms. Little girl: Maud Valentine Smith, (3 December 1894-1954), a district nurse. Girl on fur rug: Edith Lillian Smith, born 2 October 1896. The family lived at Wiltshire Villas, 10 Launch Street, Poplar, until 1908 when they moved to 13 Ship Street, Cubitt Town, E14. From P.G. Elliott
