How do I obtain a copy of an image?
Photographic copies can be obtained from Tower Hamlets Local Studies and Archives (there is a charge for this service) or a maximum of 5 digital copies can be emailed to you. If you would like to use the images for publication or display please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Maud Green and John Green 1936
1936. Mrs Maud Green, nee Smith, (1907-1980) and John Green (1905-1978), son of Mrs Charlotte Green. John Green was a maintenence engineer who did his apprenticeship with East Ferry Road Engineering Ltd., and also worked at Woolwich Arsenal, Mortons, Montague Meyers and White Sea Baltic. Mrs Smith had worked in the office at Maconochies, and later at various jobs, including Fenner and Alders. She was a well known piano player in local pubs. They lived in East Ferry Road, Glengall Road, and Parsonage Street, and also had the first - ever pre-fab , in Tiller Road - reported in the newspapers at the time. by Mrs M. Stephens
