How do I obtain a copy of an image?

Photographic copies can be obtained from Tower Hamlets Local Studies and Archives (there is a charge for this service) or a maximum of 5 digital copies can be emailed to you. If you would like to use the images for publication or display please contact us at localhistory@towerhamlets.gov.uk

Description:

The French family of Westferry Road, Isle of Dogs (near Kinsbridge), 1920s. Standing: Arthur French, a stevedore, the eldest son, and old Mr French, who worked at Bennet Laws, and died in 1938, in his eighties. In front, seated: Jack French, who worked on the railway in the docks, and died at the age of 72. Emily French, (nee Hawkins), Jack's wife, who had lived round ‘The Bay' in Stewart Street before marriage; Martha French (nee Bowater), Arthur's wife. Seated in foreground is Eunice French, daughter of Arthur and Martha, (1910-1970). Old Mr French originated from Coggeshall in Essex. by Mrs French
