How do I obtain a copy of an image?
Photographic copies can be obtained from Tower Hamlets Local Studies and Archives (there is a charge for this service) or a maximum of 5 digital copies can be emailed to you. If you would like to use the images for publication or display please contact us at email@example.com
Tobago Street 1930s
Tobago Street, Isle of Dogs, in the early 1930s. George Seymour (1914-1985), stevedore, the youngest of about thirteen children. In later life George lived in British Street (Harbinger Road), and did painting, decorating and general repairs. With him is his mother, Mrs Seymour. The front room of the house was used as a shop or general store, which his father Mr C. Seymour opened with his compensation money of about £50, following an accident in the docks. by Mrs French
