Chapel House Street 1920s
Chapel House Street, Isle of Dogs 1920s (where the National Westminster Bank is in the 1980's). Sightseers watching a procession from the Roman Catholic Church pass by. This corner was bombed in the Blitz, and a water-tank was later erected on the corner. The National Westminster Bank moved there from a prefab - office, afterwards used as an office by Burdell's Engineering, in Manchester Road (demolished in 1986 to make way for a housing development). by Tony Atkinson
