Catherine Mary Anne Studd (nee Ellis); came to the Island from Ramsey in Essex, where her father was a baker and confectioner. Her husband was a quartermaster on the Cutty Sark; they met when she was in service at Kirby-le-Soken. They moved to the Island while he was still in the Merchant Navy, because he was trading out of Millwall Dock. He later went into partnership with a Mr Maltby in a stevedoring business. by J. Studd
