East India Dock Road 1870s
Harry Oxley and Elizabeth Oxley (nee Chamberlain). This photograph was taken in a studio in East India Dock Road, probably in the 1860s. Harry Oxley worked at a pottery on the Isle of Dogs, perhaps the one in Westferry Road on what later became the site of Associated Lead. The couple moved to Hartlepool before the 1900s, leaving some relatives here. Their grandson, another Harry Oxley, still lives in Hartlepool, and sent us this photograph. by Harry Oxley
