Description:
1935 Jubillee Party in Hesperus Crescent: Mrs Maud King (nee Wheatley) writes: At the tables here were two or three children from every house in the Crescent. The ladies serving were Mrs Holmes and Mrs Tyler, and nearly all the mums and dads were helping in the background. The boy on the bike is Dick Wheatley; he and his twin brother, Joe, were known as the Diggles twins. Dick worked all his life as transport manager for Montague Meyers in Millwall Docks. When the firm closed, he worked at Grey's for four years, and is now living in retirement at Hornchurch. Joe lives at Rayleigh. by Mrs M. King
