How do I obtain a copy of an image?
Photographic copies can be obtained from Tower Hamlets Local Studies and Archives (there is a charge for this service) or a maximum of 5 digital copies can be emailed to you. If you would like to use the images for publication or display please contact us at email@example.com
Edith Ellen Wilson 1910s
Edith Ellen Wilson, born 1 March 1884, died 27 December 1928. (of pneumonia). Edith was born in Barchester Street, Poplar (or Bow), and her parents came to the Island, where her mother was widowed young and became a local midwife. Her father had been a seaman. Edith probably went to St. John’s School and married Arthur Horner at St John’s Church 1910. Before marriage she worked at the Star or Stirling Company, in Stewart Street, machining the hoods of prams. After marriage, they lived a short time in Pennyfields and then moved to Galbraith Street near her mother. Edith had three boys and two girls, and took in washing. by Mrs N. Wisewell
