Whit Sunday, May 28th 1939. Celebrating the wedding at No. 34 Marshfield Street of Rosie Hipperson, cashier at Lyons Tea Shop in Eastcheap, and Eddie Marston from Bow, a chef at ‘London Tavern', Fenchurch Street. The bride is centre back wearing a flat cap; Mrs Rosie Hipperson (bride's mother) wearing a bridesmaid's headdress and carrying an accordion; Marie Roper on left; Chris Roper on right and Violet Campbell with the trilby. Lily Marston in front pouring a drink (groom's sister). The Roper sisters, from Cuba Street were related to the bride. The couple were married in St. John's, the party went on for several days, and they lived at Marshfield Steet until they were bombed out. They didn't return to the Island. Donated by Mr Adams
