Laurence Hart's new car outside the Smith's family home at No. 601 Glen Terrace, Manchester Road, sometime between 1979 and 1981. The photograph shows the gap between No. 601 and 597, where No. 599 was gutted by a fire bomb during the war. The Smiths moved into No. 601 in January 1941 when the gap was already there and it remained till a new house was built in 1985-6. The gap was more or less open to the street and children would use it as access to the ‘glen' at the back. Donated by Mrs Doris Hart
