How do I obtain a copy of an image?

Photographic copies can be obtained from Tower Hamlets Local Studies and Archives (there is a charge for this service) or a maximum of 5 digital copies can be emailed to you. If you would like to use the images for publication or display please contact us at

Island History Trust Image Collection


Betty McDonald in the costume of a “Dainty Dot” about 1938. The Dainty Dots were an Island dance troupe led by Dolly Dell; they practised in a flat in Dunbar House Glengall Road (now Tiller Road) and paid sixpence a week for their lessons. Their concerts included songs of the period, music-hall songs and dance routines. Donated by Mrs Betty Redgrave
