Coronation celebrations 1937. In the foreground: Mrs Brown left, and Mrs Nightingale on the right. Mrs. Brown was born Annie Elizabeth Frances Harrison in Greenwich in 1882. In 1900 she married stevedore William Robbins at St. John’s Church. He died in 1923 and she later married bus driver Bill Brown. Mrs. Brown died in Bromley Hospital in 1943, aged 61. These two ladies had the responsibility of collecting the money and buying the bunting for the street, which won the prize - a barrel of beer for the best-dressed street in Cubitt Town. In the background are Mrs Chadwick and Ivy Nightingale. Donated by Daisy Woodard
