How do I obtain a copy of an image?

Photographic copies can be obtained from Tower Hamlets Local Studies and Archives (there is a charge for this service) or a maximum of 5 digital copies can be emailed to you. If you would like to use the images for publication or display please contact us at localhistory@towerhamlets.gov.uk

Arthur Smith, youngest son of Mr and Mrs George Besant Smith, 13 Ship Street, London, E.14. Photographed here as a choirboy at Christchurch, perhaps in the early 1920s. Born in 1912, he went to the Old Cubitt Town School. He was a keen footballer and played for Millwall Youth. When he left school he worked for ‘Cargo Fleet’, a steel stockholders on the site in Saunders Ness Road, now occupied by the National Dock Labour Board. Donated by R Bradbrook
