Poplar Town Hall, Bow. 21st October 1950. The wedding of Frank Brudenell and Kit McPherson. The reception was held at the bride’s family home, 9 Mellish Street, Isle of Dogs. Left to right: Arthur “Gus” O’Keefe and Violet McPherson (sister of bride, later O’Keefe). The boy is Brian Sinclair, nephew of groom, his mother Sybil is behind him; next to her, groom’s mother, Elizabeth Helen Brudenell). Groom and bride. Katherine McPherson, bride’s mother; Arthur “Bush” perkins and in front of him his wife Win (bride’s sister); Ronald Grigg and his wife Olive (wife’s sister). The bride, Kit, the eldest of five sisters, was in the Land Army during World War Two and stayed on afterwards in the Oundle area, where she met Frank. he also worked on the land, but the pay was poor and he took a job instead in a diesel factory in Peterborough - which he hated.
