Disability Service User Forum

Tower Hamlets Adults, Health and Well-being Directorate want to hear your views about local services for people with physical and sensory disabilities. The Physical and Sensory Disability Service User Forum is the place to come and make your voice heard.

What is the service user forum?

The forum is a place where disabled adults in Tower Hamlets can come to give their views on the services they receive, raise issues and contribute to improving services for disabled adults in the Borough.

When and where does the Forum meet?

The forum meets four times a year at the Resource Centre, Southern Grove, Mile End, usually at 4pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Sandwiches, snacks and drinks are provided.

Who can come to the service user forum?

Any disabled adult who live in Tower Hamlets can come to the forum. You do not need to have a social worker or be receiving services. There will also be some people from the Council who can listen to your views/issues and sometimes there will be speakers who will talk to you about issues/services that you have raised with us. Most importantly there will be other people who may have similar issues/concerns/ideas as you!

What if I need support to come to the forum?

At every Service User Forum there will be a Bengali/Sylheti interpreter and also a British Sign Language interpreter. Transport arrangements can be made. The building is wheelchair accessible and has disabled toilet facilities.

What will the forum be talking about?

This is up to you! The forum will talk about a range of different issues that are important to you and try to look at ways to improve things. This could be about information you get, the support you need or about wanting to work or study for example.
