People learn languages with us for many reasons. You may want to brush up your skills for a holiday, or get to grips with your spoken and written skills for work or fun.
Get Qualified in Languages
Whether you are learning a language to further your career, to get on better at your favourite holiday destination, our ABC qualifications are for you.
If you are already familiar with the basics of a language either from one of our 'Get Started' classes or because you have a good grounding in a language, take our 'Speaking and Listening' language course and you’ll pick up conversational basics in no time. From forming simple sentences and questions, you’ll be starting to gain recognisable proficiency in the language, and start to use the past, present and future tenses.
When you finish the 'Speaking and Listening' award, why not get to grips with 'Reading and Writing' your new language. You will read through texts to get general meaning and pick out details, know whether the events have happened, are happening now, or are in the future, and much more. When it comes to writing, you’ll be composing notes and messages, simple letters, greetings cards and writing your own short pieces.
Learn Languages for Yourself
Our 'Get Started' courses cover the basics of communicating in simple situations, whether it’s getting by on holiday or discussing your life and family. Our 'Get Started for Work' courses can help if you work with non-English speaking companies – from entertaining clients to basic business communications.
As you take one of our Intermediate courses, you will be developing your speaking and listening skills, communicate in a wider range of everyday situations and work more with written material. At advanced level, you will use language confidently in all everyday situations, use grammar with greater skill, and be able to communicate more complex thoughts and ideas.
