Libraries
Membership is free and with a library card you can borrow books, CDs and DVDs from any library or Idea Store in the borough. Just pop along to your local library with proof of your address (for example a driving licence or utility bill) to pick up your card.

Reference and Information Service
As well as answering general reference enquiries, we provide information on a wide range of topics. All Idea Stores and libraries have a selection of encyclopaedias, directories and dictionaries and are able to deal with general reference enquiries.
Online Reference Services
We offer FREE access to a range of online subscription services.
Local Studies and Archives
Our extensive collection comprises of books, pamphlets, cuttings, illustrations and photographs, microfilm and an audio-visual collection.
Mobile Library Service and Home Visits
If you find it difficult to visit any of the Idea Stores or libraries, our Mobile Library service regularly visits sites throughout the borough. The Home Delivery Library Service can visit you if you are housebound, or use day centres, luncheon clubs or sheltered accommodation.
Lifelong Learning
You can access our high-quality lifelong learning service at all Idea Stores. Our courses cover a wide range of interests, so you're sure to find something to suit you whatever your age and level of experience.
Children's and Family Services
In your library you will find designated children's areas with large ranges of storybooks, non-fiction books and audio books.
