Library charges & fines
Borrowing books from Tower Hamlets Idea Stores & Libraries is free. However, there are charges for some services and fines charged for loaned items that are overdue.
Your loans can be renewed via the Online Catalogue.
You can borrow up to 12 items for three weeks including a maximum of 4 audio visual items. If items are returned late you may have to pay a fine. Items may be renewed up to 5 times if there are no outstanding reservations attached. See below for more detailed fees and charges.

Fines
Adults 10p per book or CD
Charges are per open day and to a maximum of £2.50 per item
No charge for under 16s / over 60s
DVDs 30p each per day
Reservations for books, CDs and DVDs in stock
There is no charge for reserving an item that is in stock in Tower Hamlets or any London Libraries Consortium library.
Please note that we only accept reservations for CDs and DVDs that are listed as in stock

Adults 70p per item
No charge for under 16s / over 60s
Audio Visual loans
Music CDs, language courses and audio books
CDs - Adults 70p per loan. No charge for under 16s / over 60s / registered blind / deaf
Sets - charged at the rates for CDs
Language Courses - No charge
Annual audio subscription - £20 (CDs)
Audio books - no charge
DVDs & CD-Roms
DVDs: £2 per 1 week loan; two for the price of one for pensioners
No charge for registered blind / deaf
CDRoms: 70p adults per loan. No charge for under 16s / over 60s / registered blind / deaf

Printouts - A4 B&W 10p per sheet. A4 Colour 25p per sheet
USB memory sticks 256MB - £5.00
USB memory sticks 1GB - £8.00
Lost membership cards
Children - 50p

Photocopier cards - £1.00 per card
A4 Black & White - 10p per sheet
A3 Black & White - 20p per sheet

Fax
Sending faxes to the UK - 59p per page
Sending faxes to Europe - £1.18 per page
Sending faxes to USA - £1.76 per page
Sending faxes to other regions - £2.35
Receiving faxes from anywhere - 12p per page
