How do I become a member?
Joining is free
Joining your local Idea Store or library is easy and FREE. Just visit one of our Idea Stores or libraries and complete the application form for membership. You will need to provide proof of your name and address - this could be a driving licence, a medical card, a utility bill or any official communication that you have recently received.
There is no minimum age to join your local Idea Store or library. Membership is open to anyone who has a permanent address.
Complete the registration form online.
On completetion of the online registration form, you will be allocated a temporary library card number. You can pick up your new library card at your local Idea Store or library. Don't forget to bring along proof of your name and address.
Membership
You can borrow up to 12 items as soon as you join and enjoy free access to the Internet and online subscription information services.
Renewing the items you have on loan is quick and easy.

Home Delivery Service
Do you have mobility difficulties in getting to your local Idea Store or library? Then our free home delivery service is here to meet your needs.

Using your membership card in other libraries
Tower Hamlets is a member of the London Libraries Consortium. You can use your Idea Store card in any library in our partner authorities to borrow books and audio visual items.
