Opening Ceremony Day; Mini Olympic Games
Come and join in with our Opening Ceremony Day for the Beijing Olympic Games and Summer Activities at Idea Store, Chrisp Street! Take part in the Olympic Torch Maze and Treasure Hunt around the Idea Store, which will lead to a prize!

My Video Diary and Wii Love Olympic Games
Waiting for your turn on the Wii love Olympic Games? While you're waiting, why not take part in creating your very own Video Diary! You can do a quick book review about the latest book you have read as part of the "Team Read" challenge and tell others if you liked it or not! You can also share your experiences about being at the Idea Store and tell us what you enjoyed or didn't enjoy! You will need a consent/permission letter from your parent or guardian to take part in the Video Diary. All Video Diaries will be shown as part of the Closing Ceremony function. Please ask in-store for details.

Rhythm and Rhyme Funday.
Fun packed day of Rhythm and Rhyme, themed around the National Year of Reading! Take part in our "Chrisp Street's Got Talent" competition. Young people get to take part in special workshops and then perform their talent such as poetry, rap or even storytelling in front of a panel of guest judges who will then decide the winner and award their prize! The day will also include an author visit workshop, arts and crafts workshops and much, much more!

Mini Olympic Games
You get to take part in our very own indoor "Idea Store Mini Olympic Games!" Competitive and fun event where children are divided into teams of participating countries of the Olympics and take part in games such as; badminton, drinking straw race, team hangman and much, much more! Teams with the most points win the Olympics and get medals for gold, silver and bronze!

I Discover…
Fun and interactive session where you discover new, mysterious and fun things from around the world! Children then record each new discovery, using a diary/storyboard. At the end of the session, all the children's discoveries, diaries/storyboards will contribute towards forming montage of "Our Discoveries Story Book".

Olympic Football Tournament
A very competitive and fun event where the aim is to divide into teams of participating countries of the Olympics and score goals! With goal posts on each side of the room, you are allowed one touch to score before your opponent has a touch. Winner stays on!

Olympic Rings Mural Project
In-keeping with the theme of the "Team Read" summer reading campaign we are running a summer-long project, encouraging families to take part in creating our very own "Idea Store Olympic Rings Mural". Fantastic opportunity to add your own creative touch! The mural will be displayed as part of the Closing Day Ceremony.

My Olympic Day at the Idea Store
Children get to make their own Olympic Flag of their homeland or any other country of their choice along with their very won Olympic Medals. Children then get their photo taken while standing on the winner’s podium and then framed. A memorable day, which they won’t forget!

"Rat-a-Tat-Tat" is a special show in-keeping with the theme of the "Team Read" summer reading campaign. This lively and colourful production with over 108 puppets, tells the story of a team race, which takes place in the jungle and the winner gets a special prize from the Emperor!

Closing Ceremony Day
A day to end the Idea Store Olympic Games and Summer Activities. Come and join in celebrating the reading achievements of those who completed the "Team Read" reading challenge. Prizes will be awarded to the competition winners. There will also be a martial arts display, performed by all the participants of the Olympic Martial Arts sessions, showing off their new skills! Along with the Video Diaries, the Olympic Rings Mural will be displayed, which will be a fantastic opportunity for the, parents/guardians to see the work they created in the summer long project and to support them in their creative development. This work will be going up around the Idea Store for all to see and admire!
