Class Visits

This is an invitation to bring your class to an Idea Store or library.

The Purpose of a Class Visit

A class visit is an opportunity to join the Idea Store and find out what is on offer so that the child will be motivated to return out of school hours with their family. The aim is to encourage independent use and ensure the child is confident to use the service without a teacher.

At present we have three workshops which give children the opportunity to learn about Idea Store services and resources.

Each workshop lasts between 45 minutes to an hour.

What We Offer

  • A choice of three fun workshops focusing on information skills or developing a love of reading
  • Enthusiastic staff
  • The opportunity for children to learn in a community setting
  • A chance for children to learn or reinforce the skills that will encourage lifelong learning
  • The first opportunity some children will have to visit an Idea Store of public library
  • The potential for children to introduce the rest of their family to Idea Store services
  • Support for developing literacy.
