Andrew Motion

Andrew Motion was born in London on October 26 1952 and became Poet Laureate in 1999. As Poet Laureate he works towards bringing poetry to more people, in particular, with younger people. Currently he is a Professor of Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London.

After graduating from University College, Oxford, he went to lecturer post at the Universities of Hull and East Anglia. Andrew Motion has had editorial positions, namely for the Poetry Review, and withChatto and Windus.
