Description:

Blackwall Station, North London Railway. Blackwall Station was opened in 1840 to serve passengers coming from the Minories, in the City, to Brunswick Wharf, to take the steamers to the coast. The London and Blackwall Railway, later absorbed into the North London Railway, ran along the Viaduct (used by the new Dockland Light Railway) from the Minories to Poplar, and then into a cutting as far as Blackwall.
