How do I obtain a copy of an image?

Photographic copies can be obtained from Tower Hamlets Local Studies and Archives (there is a charge for this service) or a maximum of 5 digital copies can be emailed to you. If you would like to use the images for publication or display please contact us at localhistory@towerhamlets.gov.uk

102 East Ferry Road James Dewar (1855-1927) Jessie Kezia Dewar, nee Wells, (20/04/1863-12/11/1926) born, at Blackheath; died at East Ferry Road. She married James at All Sains Poplar on 16/08/1884. She was an accomplished singer and pianist. James Vernon Wells Dewar, (10/04/1889-30/06/1960) in Hampshire. Inherited George Brockley’s brass and copper works from his father in 1927, sold it just before world War Two. He was a draughtsman, worked with various shipbuilding companies in London, Southampton and Glasgow, where he met his wife. No children. As a draughtsman was in reserved occupation in WW1, was commended for hsi work, and was also an ARP Warden in Lee, South London, in WW2. John Gordon Noel Dewar, 28/05/1885, d. 25/12/1892 d/20/10/1983 in Dorset. A bank clerk, served in WW1, worked Bank of England. Married Winifred Muscott had four children. Gertrude Jessie Dewar (28/05/1885-26/10/1918) in flu epidemic. James Dewar sponsored a cot in local hospital in her memory. Donated by Dewar family
