Photograph in Edwardian times 1900s
The original of the photograph was discovered in the Ferry House pub and is presumed to be an outing from there. The vehicle is a four-in-hand, or four- horse coach; the rear ends of the two front horses can just be seen on the left of the photograph. There are 60 men and boys here, so there were probably three vehicles - this may have been the leading one, as there are two musicians sitting up in front by the driver. Although it is full summer, everyone is wearing a three-piece suit and a cap or hat. Judging by the clothes and the transport, this photograph was taken in the 1900s - Edwardian times before the First World War.
