Minnie developed pneumonia while in Holloway Prison. She died on 1 January 1922.

LC14425: Elsie Lagsding oral history transcript. Elsie Lagsding lived in Poplar and was a Suffragette. Transcript describes her early life and jobs, as well as meeting Sylvia Pankhurst, attending demonstrations and being arrested. It also includes working at The Cost Price Restaurant, selling the Dreadnought paper, and arguing with Minnie Lansbury over the conditions in the restaurant.

30 Labour councillors were jailed in a protest over the iniquity of the system of poor law rates in 1921. The 30 included five women councillors.

The Bryant and May Match Girls Strike of 1888

In July 1888, 1,400 women and girls employed by the matchmakers Bryant and May walked out of their London factory. Their strike was in response to poor working conditions which were causing illness and deaths. The Matchgirls Memorial website commemorates their contribution including Sarah Chapman, a strike committee leader. Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives hosted an exhibition, 'Sarah Chapman, Matchgirl', 2 March - 26 Apr 2019
