Data privacy notices

Our data privacy notices, developed in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of 25 May 2018 as the Data Protection Act 2018.

To make it clear and easy for you to understand why we process your personal data we have created four data privacy notices. This according to the main functions of our service and areas of work we carry out which involve processing personal data

Impact reports

2020-21 impact report
2020-21 was challenging year for the service due to the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Our building was closed during lockdown but we did have three periods or re-opening with limited hours of service.

2021-22 impact report
The 2021-22 impact report focussed on returning our service to pre­-pandemic service, improving our visibility within the council and community.

2022-23 impact report
The 2022-23 impact report focussed on adding to our collections and seeking to increase our visibility within the council.

Since 2024 we now present our annual reports as webpages rather than pdfs, to improve accessibility. 

2023-2024 impact report
Visitor numbers increased as we hosted a wide range of creative exhibitions inspired by local and oral history. New lighting was installed in the Reading Room and a new digital microfilm reader procured.

2024-25 impact report
Our busiest year yet! Thanks to the blockbuster Cockney Rebels exhibition and book and the Communities of Liberation project. We also scored 95% in the annual survey of visitors to archives.
