Mental Health Awareness Week
Did you know?
- 1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem of some kind each year.
- 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (like anxiety and depression) in any given week.
Join us to raise awareness about Mental Health and reduce stigma. This year's theme is ‘Movement’. Movement is important for our mental health, but so many of us struggle to move enough. We know there are many different reasons for this, so at this Mental Health Awareness Week we want to help people to find moments for movement in their daily routines. Going for a walk in your neighbourhood, putting on your favourite music and dancing around the living room, doing chair exercises when you’re watching television, visiting your local Idea Store/Library to borrow a book, participate in an activity or take up a Health and Wellbeing course.
Lookout for our special mental health themed book displays around Idea Stores to help you on your way to better mental and physical health and well-being.
